Updated Best List of Keyword Research Tools for Bloggers

One of the biggest struggles that bloggers face is getting traffic to their blogs. Perhaps one of the best ways to get blog traffic is through SEO, but which keyword research tools should you be using?
A lot of bloggers and online marketers stopped focusing on SEO because Google’s keyword tools only provide limited keyword data now.
The good news is that you can still do keyword research with tools that other people have created.
And incorporating these keywords into your content can generate traffic from less competitive keywords. Although less competitive keywords often send less traffic, that traffic can add up over
time.
In 2013, Google reduced the amount of keyword data available from its keyword tools and even Google Analytics. Google stated that it was simplifying its keyword tool to make it easier for Adwords advertisers to use, but many online marketers were disappointed at the reduced amount of keyword data available.
However, other individuals and companies have developed their own keyword tools to help online writers gain access to more keyword data.

Here is a massive list of over 90 keyword research tools and ideas compiled by Brian Lang from Small Business Ideas Blog:

So what do you do once you have a list of keywords? Here are some ideas:

1. Look for new topics that you can write about
Keyword research shows you what people are searching for online. This data can give you some insight into what people are looking for and problems that people are struggling with.

Keyword research can give you great ideas for new blog topics if you get stuck and don’t know what to write about.
2. Incorporate some of these keywords into existing articles
You may be able to expand some of your current blog posts by incorporating some of the keywords you find into articles that you are writing or have already written.
Adding relevant keywords to your articles and expanding your content could send you even more search engine traffic.
3. Gain a better understanding of your audience
Sometimes keyword data allows you to get a better understanding of your audience. By viewing what they are searching for, you can gain insight into what problems or questions that your audience wants answered.
You can also see some of the tools and brands that they search for. This data can help you create better and more relevant content.
When blogging, you should focus on producing quality content for your audience. So don’t stuff a ton of keywords into your content just to get search engine traffic.
But don’t ignore keyword research and SEO like most bloggers. Add in a few keywords that make sense and consider creating some keyword targeted blog posts if you want to get more search engine traffic.
